I wrote this blog about a month ago after I went to my dear friend, Ranya’s also known as Kahota pronounced Ka-hu-ta, you see how that African name creeped up on you? 🙂 Baby shower but kept it as a draft as I needed to edit the pictures to go with it. Today, almost a month later, I go to add the pictures and edit the draft, mistakenly hit a bottom and just like that everything gone..vamoose, now I have to write it all over again…Yeah, I know you feel my pain.. 🙂

I know you are like, here she goes again with these titles, well I have known Kahota for over 30 years, we attended the same high school and we lived on the same street in Freetown, Sierra Leone our parents still own homes on that same street. If you are from a country in West Africa, nine out of ten times you have two names, an English name which is usually your first name that is easy to pronounce and a middle name an African name. I was blessed with two English names but my last name gives away my origin. 🙂 Well, I said all that to say this, Ranya refuses to call me by my government name she says ouda nah Jacqueline? you mean Marcella? Me nor dae call you no Jacqueline ar dae call you Marcella..Can you imagine, pan me yone name again..Haha..I am not calling you Jacqueline, I will call you Marcella…That’s Ranya for you, straight chaser you don’t have to worry about what she is thinking she will tell you..

Ranya has a top position with the United Nations and I have been trying to get a job with them for the longest time but she will not give me the time of day. I got so upset with her sometime ago, I deleted her on facebook, she sent me an inbox, you Marcella if you nor add me back we two go meetup..haha..that’s her, never misses a beat, she basically commanded me to add her back.

Ranya, is currently on maternity leave here in the states and we finally had time to sit down and talk, we went over my resume and one thing she told me, she said you need to sell yourself, if you don’t no one will. Timing is everything, now is the time God wanted us to chat. Sometimes in life, we just need someone to give us that nudge, because we might know our potential but do not act on it or push ourselves enough. I listened to her pointers, put some into action and was able to attend a leadership training recently at my job because I spoke up. Ranya, thank you..:-)

Ranya and I have a similar testimony with regard to our husband/partner but with different outcomes. That will be a blog for another day.:-)It is befitting that I finally got to do this blog today just after Mother’s day, to give all women including me hope with regard to having a baby. After having her son almost twelve years ago, the Lord has blessed her again and she is about to have her heart desire and we give God all the glory. Ironically, I was at her first shower and I was there again at this one.

If you are believing God for a child, receive that baby by faith. I will do another blog on women who are having babies at an older age, when God says yes nobody can say no.
Songs of Solomon 4:2b whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them
Luke 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
Exodus23:26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfill
Deutoronomy 7:14 Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Ouda Nah Jacqueline? U Mean Marcella? Yes Nah Me..Happy Mothers Day!! 🙂
